Searchlight sets up Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools and Microsoft Clarity for your website. It is run by Divina Endeavors LLC, doing business as Hero Apps (“we”). This page explains what we touch, what we keep and how to remove it.
The short version
- We don't have a database. We don't keep your Google or Microsoft data on our servers.
- Your sign-in is kept in an encrypted cookie in your own browser and expires after 30 days.
- We only use your Google and Microsoft access to do the setup you ask for, while you're using it.
- We never sell your data, show you ads, or use it to train AI models.
What we access in your Google account
When you press “Connect Google”, Google asks you to allow:
- Your email address, so we can show which account is connected.
- Google Analytics (edit), to list your Analytics accounts, create a property and web data stream for your site (or reuse the existing one), set data retention to 14 months and mark lead actions as key events.
- Site Verification, to get your ownership tag and ask Google to verify that you own your site.
- Search Console, to add your verified site and submit its sitemap.
We read your Analytics account and property names only to show them to you and avoid creating duplicates. We don't read your traffic reports, search data, visitors or anything else in these accounts.
Searchlight's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We don't transfer this information to anyone, and no person at Hero Apps reads it unless you ask us to help you and give permission.
What we access in your Microsoft account
When you press “Connect Bing”, Microsoft asks you to allow access to Bing Webmaster Tools. We use it to add your site, get Bing's ownership code, verify your site and send Bing your sitemap and homepage. Nothing else.
What you type in
Your website address, business name, social accounts, time zone, currency and (optionally) your Clarity project ID. We use them to check your website and build your snippet. They're saved in your own browser so you can close the page and carry on later; we don't store them on our servers.
To check your site, our server visits your homepage, robots.txt and sitemap, the same public pages any search engine sees.
Cookies and browser storage
- Sign-in cookie: holds the access keys Google and Microsoft gave us, encrypted so only our server can read them. It lasts up to 30 days.
- Sign-in check cookie: a short-lived random value that protects the sign-in step from forgery.
- Browser storage: your progress in the setup, so the page remembers where you were.
Searchlight has no advertising or tracking cookies, and no analytics of its own.
Hosting
Searchlight runs on Vercel. Like every web host, Vercel keeps short-lived technical logs of requests, such as IP address and time, to run and protect the service.
Removing access and data
- Press “Disconnect” next to Google or Bing in the app to delete that sign-in from your browser.
- Remove Searchlight's access entirely at Google account permissions or Microsoft app permissions.
- Clear this site's data in your browser to remove your saved progress.
What Searchlight created in your accounts (your Analytics property, Search Console and Bing listings) belongs to you and stays there after you disconnect. You can change or delete it in Google Analytics, Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, or to delete it, at support@hero-apps.com. Because we don't keep a database, the answer is usually “nothing beyond our host's technical logs”.
Children
Searchlight is a tool for businesses and isn't meant for anyone under 16.
Changes
If we change what we collect, we'll update this page and its date. Read our terms too.
